OK, I am a 2nd-generation Indian, born in India and raised here in the US. My full name refers to Lord Krishna, one of the central figures in Hindu theology. I remember truly disliking my name growing up, mainly because it caused me to stand out and when you are young, all you want to do is fit in. As I have grown older, I have learned to appreciate the uniqueness and heritage given to me by my name.
I recently moved to the Milwaukee area and currently live in New Berlin. I currently work as a Systems Engineer for Emageon in the exciting Healthcare IT field. My work mainly deals with systems integrations projects using industry standards such as DICOM and HL7 with a focus on medical imaging workflow within Radiology and Cardiology. I am also active in our company's IHE efforts promoting interoperability between healthcare IT vendors and the adoption of a nation-wide Electronic Healthcare Record.
